The Nineteenth Edition. 2025

Benedict Anderson wrote that a community can exist even just because we imagine it.

That's how it works with nations, with peoples.

And that's how it works with the Villaggio della Birra.

Because we don't all know each other, yet every September we seem part of the same ritual.

Some come from far away, some from nearby, some return for years, some arrive for the first time: everyone helps shape this community that lasts three days, but stays alive within us for twelve months.

Here beer is the pretext and the glue. Of course, rare productions arrive, previews, the boldest fermentations.

But people come to the Villaggio for much more: for the atmosphere that feels like home and the world at the same time, for the faces that are recognized year after year, for the sense of belonging that grows and evolves like a living culture.

Over the years, this little Village has become a social laboratory. Here generations, languages, musical styles, gastronomic traditions mix. You learn that craft beer is not just a drink, but a universal language, able to unite without barriers. It is a secular ritual, made of collective toasts, of workshops that become shared stories, of nights spent discussing under the stars.

Thanks to those who traveled to be here, to those who shared a glass, a hug, a smile.

Thanks to the volunteers — few, but special — who make the Festival their own, with the strength of a great family that holds out until the last toast.

Thanks to Lorenzo Kuaska Dabove and Anna Borrelli, two unique personalities devoted to spreading the culture of craft beer. Lorenzo, with his workshops, makes the Village richer and livelier, by our side for twenty years.

Thanks to Simone Cantoni who, with his traveling workshops, enriched the program by weaving a direct thread between producer and drinker: intimate and special meetings, able to turn every tasting into a unique moment of exchange and knowledge.

A special thanks to the brewers who came from all over the world, for traveling and sharing the magic of the Festival with us, making the Village a global meeting of passions, stories, and flavors.

Thanks to the artists who took turns on stage: with their music they made every evening unique and, at the same time, are proudly friends of the Village, part of our big family.

Thanks to Comune di Rapolano Terme who welcomes us, and to Tuscany that embraces everyone with its beauty.

The Village is not just a festival.

The Festival

The Villaggio della Birra is the longest-running Italian beer festival. A 360-degree event born in the Sienese countryside in 2006.

For three days, thirty brewmasters from all over the world will serve you and tell you about their beers. All in the wonderful setting of the Parco Dell Acqua in Rapolano Terme, among tastings, live music, and selected Street Food for a 360-degree event. Not Just a Festival!

How It Works

By purchasing the Festival glass and one or more tokens, visitors will be able to embark on a journey among craft beers explained and described by those who produce them.

The cost of the beer is therefore in tokens, which can be purchased at the entrance to the Festival (or in advance), and will vary depending on the beer chosen. Any surplus will not be refunded.

Alongside beer, the other great protagonist of the Village has always been quality food, offered in its many variations, prepared and served by different "actors." To eat and drink, it is therefore necessary to purchase tokens at the cash desks (or in advance), and the number of tokens will vary depending on the dish chosen.

Thanks to the commitment of the Municipal Administration of Rapolano Terme and the availability of F. C. D. Rapolano Terme, we announce the possibility of pitching a tent just a few meters from the festival, with access to showers and bathrooms.

Friday, September 5th - The stage at the Villaggio della Birra lights up already on Friday evening with two special guests:
Black Snake Moan – The project of Marco Contestabile, singer, guitarist, and composer, blends blues, folk, and psychedelic rock into a hypnotic and personal sound.
His performances take you on a journey through psychedelic visions, desert blues, and suspended atmospheres: reverberated guitars, magnetic voice, and a sound that seems to come straight from a dusty crossroads in the American South.
Tony Sghembo – From Valpolicella comes a thrilling trio: Isacco dalle Pezze (bass and drums), Antonio Cortina (vocals and guitars), and Alessandro Costa (vocals, keyboards, harps, tambourine, and cymbals).
Their sound mixes blues, '90s psych-folk stoner, and '60s groove, with an energy that live turns into a raw and hypnotic experience, impossible to ignore.

A perfect evening to get into the Villaggio mood: good beer, good music, and the magic of Rapolano Terme that accompanies us.

Ready for a Stoner Rock Night?

Saturday, September 6th, the Villaggio della Birra at Parco dell'Acqua in Rapolano Terme will become the beating heart of the stoner doom music scene. By now, it has become an annual appointment with stoner music!

Headlining will be Isaak, a band with a powerful and enveloping sound. Get ready to be transported on a sonic journey through heavy riffs and dreamy atmospheres! Their music is a true anthem to the vibration of the guitar and the power of the bass.

But that's not all! Opening the evening will be Super Naughty, ready to heat up the atmosphere with their unique and overwhelming style. Their songs will be the perfect appetizer for the sonic feast to follow!

Mo. BI. Homebrewers Competition

Since 2008, the Villaggio della Birra has been a stop on the National Homebrewers Championship organized by MoBi Movimento Birrario Italiano and this year as well, the jury, chaired by Lorenzo Dabove (Kuaska), will meet on September 8 to announce the winner of the Sixteenth HB Competition at the Villaggio. Awards ceremony, Sunday, September 7 at 4:30 pm.
